When i first saw this man, i felt that the character stood in the picture was perhaps homeless, this is because i felt he immediately represented a stereotypical 'tramp'. This was mainly down to the fact it loooked like he was wearing scruffy colthes (patched trousers, beanie hat, jacket that doesnt fit correctly).
However, upon looking into the picture closely, I felt that he had a presence about him, with his open stance it looks as if he is demanding authority. You can also tell that he is wearing extremely clean decent pair of shoes, he has also turned up the bottom of his trousers, to exactly the same length, which shows he has taken care of his appearence. Finally, he is standing smoking in the bustling American street, and many homeless people wouldnt be able to afford the bad habbit.
I was then told it was this man, Doug Bilmaier, quite the opposite to a tramp. In the first image, he was pictured standing outside a Ralph Lauren shop, the place of his work. He tavells the world searching for vintage work, which you find in Ralph Lauren shops.
Dont judge a book by its cover!
